Most meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month starting at 7pm in the Tony Arter Room (TAR) at the Ripper Hall, High Street, Docking unless otherwise stated.

Below are the meetings and events confirmed to date. We sometimes add or change meetings or events so it’s always a good idea to keep a regular check of our calendar,  we hope you can find time to join us.

Entry to our talks and our annual exhibition is free for members. There is a charge for non-members, which will be shown below shortly before the event takes place.

Saturday 5th, 4pm: New Year social event (Members only).


Tuesday 5th February – March 12th 10-12 Beginners Family History Course in the Ripper Hall. £30.

Wednesday 6th: General meeting welcome to 2019

Saturday 9th, 2pm: AGM at Ripper Hall


Wednesday 6th: Local History Fair Planning 7pm Ripper Hall


Wednesday 3rd: General meeting and quiz evening (members only).                           


Saturday May 4th: Set up main hall for event

Sunday and Monday May 5th and 6th:  Local History Fair  10am to 4pm.


Saturday June 1st: Visit to Langham Dome Heritage Day 


Wednesday 3rd: David Jacklin ‘In Khaki and Blue’  7pm in Ripper Hall. Non-members £3.

Saturday 27th 4pm : Summer garden party.


Saturday and Sunday 3rd and 4th: Community Dig weekend

Saturday August 25th: Set up marquee at Gressenhall in afternoon.

Sunday and Monday 26th and 27th  -Gressenhall – Village at War.


Wednesday 4th: A walk around Kings Lynn with Dr Paul Richards


Wednesday 2nd: Stephen Pope ‘Rural Life: The Agricultural Labourer’ 7pm in the Ripper Hall


Friday 8th: Neil Storey: ‘The Sandringham Company and the 5th Battalion Royal Norfolk Regiment in WW1’ 7pm in the Ripper Hall
